Femtaur Monday #14!
Every Monday I will do a quick post, spotlighting a special Femtaur. They could be from Lore, friendly Forumers, Tweetaurs, or even from my very own character list :3
Today, I will be highlighting:
Kaga Mistrunner

Kaga Mistrunner in the High Rise in Thunder Bluff
“But, Kaga is a meat vendor in Thunder Bluff… That doesn’t sound very special.”
But she is special, fabricated blog reader. She sells Roasted Beef and beef is:
noun 1. the flesh of a cow, steer, or bull raised and killed for its meat.
The WoW community traditionally puts Tauren in the “cow” category. You can see this in the comments associated with Kaga. We, the players, create names like “Holycow”. Even Blizzard added a built-in /moo emote sound just for the Tauren race. We all joke around but when it comes down to it, Femtaur aren’t cows and Maletaur aren’t bulls.
Kaga is simply supplying the (omnivorous) Tauren with sustenance. She is not peddling cannibalism.
From WoWpedia:
”Tauren are large, muscular humanoids and bovine in appearance, complete with hooves and horns.”
Let us not forget that Tauren are merely bovine-like humanoids.

Cow in Elwynn Forest
In my journey throughout the inter-webs, I came across this blog post. Going Bear Foot has not been active since July of 2011 but I am simply in love with this post. Even if you are not one to enjoy fan fiction or even role-playing, I suggest that you stick it out for this post… for me. The drawings are well done and Tawadikata makes many excellent points. My favorite quote from the post is this:
”I propose that should the other races of the world find ‘cow’ to be an acceptable term for tauren, that ‘goat’ stand for draenei, ‘boar’ for orc, ‘bunny’ for elf, and so on.” (sic)
Kaga Mistrunner: Tauren. Purveyor of Beef.

Thanks so much for the sweet comments! When I started student teaching, I just couldn’t keep up with the blog anymore, and it is my deepest regret that I was not able to do more posts from Tawadikata. I’d always meant to have her propose more theories about tauren, other Azerothian species, and even speculate on some of the geologic history of Azeroth itself.
Maybe I’ll pick it up again someday, eh? Thanks again for the lovely compliments, and please… continue raising the “Tauren are NOT cows!” banner… This still-beaten horse expired a very long time ago.
Thank you so very much for the work that you’ve done on your blog! I love your posts and this one in particular has been bookmarked for quite some time. Thank you for your contribution to the Tauren world ♥
